Confirm a Contribution (Treasurer)
Treasurer how-to: open Contribution to verify, view the receipt, then Confirm payment or Reject. Success or Failed follows; the member gets a notice.
Who can tap Confirm payment?
Only a member whose role is **Treasurer**, on a pending contribution waiting at **Verify payment received**. Admins, chairs, and secretaries do not get those buttons unless they are also the treasurer. If you cannot see **Confirm payment**, check your role on the members list.
Can the same person be member and treasurer?
Yes — small groups often do this. You will see **Make Contribution** when you pay, and **Confirm payment** / **Reject** when you open the pending transaction as treasurer. Complete both steps. Do not treat “I already have the bank app” as a substitute for the receipt and the confirm tap.
What if the receipt does not match the bank?
Tap **Reject**. Ask the member for a receipt that shows the group account, the agreed amount, and a date that fits the due slot. Confirm only after the statement and the receipt agree. A cropped screenshot of someone else’s transfer is not enough.
Does Confirm payment move money into Saving Mates?
No. The member already transferred to the group bank (or failed to). Confirm writes Success on the ledger. Saving Mates does not take custody of the contribution.
Will the member be notified?
After a confirm, they can get a payment-confirmation notice. You were notified with **Contribution to verify** when they submitted. Notifications depend on their account and channel settings; if in-app is quiet, tell them in the group’s usual chat as well.
What about automatic or electronic collection?
This guide is the manual path: group bank details, required receipt, treasurer confirm. If a contribution is on an electronic dedicated-account rail, the treasurer confirm block is hidden because confirmation follows the rail, not **Confirm payment**. That automatic path is not the default how-to.
Where do I track overdue members and fines?
Not on this screen. Use [Treasurer guide: contribution compliance](/help/article/treasurer-contribution-compliance) for overdue tracking, assessing fines, and disbursement net of fines. Fine rules themselves are in [late and missed contribution fines](/help/article/late-and-missed-contribution-fines).
