How to Make a Contribution
How to make a contribution in Saving Mates: transfer to the group bank, upload a receipt, submit, then wait for the treasurer to confirm payment.
Why is Submit payment disabled?
The screen tells you. Typical causes: no active cycle, every due date already paid, no group bank account, no receipt, no due date selected, or an invalid amount. Read the hint under the button and fix that item. The button is inactive on purpose so you do not create an empty pending row.
Do I have to upload a receipt?
Yes on the manual path. **Proof of payment / receipt (required)** must be attached before **Submit payment** works. The treasurer uses **View receipt** to match your transfer to the group account. A chat screenshot that never reaches the transaction is not the record.
What does Pending mean?
You submitted. The treasurer has not confirmed the money in the group account. The due date is not counted as paid until status is Success. Do not send a second transfer only because the row is still Pending, unless the treasurer asked you to.
Can Saving Mates take the money from my bank automatically?
Not on the default member path. You transfer to the group bank yourself, attach a receipt, and wait for the treasurer. Dedicated-account automatic confirmation is not the usual how-to yet. If your group later shows a different pay-in account, follow the text on that screen.
What if the treasurer rejects my contribution?
The transaction is marked Failed. The due date can still be unpaid. Transfer (or confirm the first transfer arrived), attach a receipt that matches the group bank, and submit again. If the amount was wrong, send the difference only if the treasurer asked you to, then record that payment.
Can I contribute if I am also the treasurer?
Yes — in a small group the same person may be a member and the treasurer. You still submit your own contribution with a receipt, then open the pending transaction and confirm it as treasurer. Both jobs show; do not skip the receipt because you “already know.”
Does a late fine replace this contribution?
No. A fine is a separate ledger line. Paying a fine does not mark the due date paid. Complete this contribution path for the slot, then follow the late-fine article if your group assessed a fine.
